With more people wanting to bring the Gastro experience into their own homes and a need for high quality sustainable fish, retail outlets such as the Fish Quay are an ideal place for consumers wanting to introduce high quality produce into their own home kitchens.
After an initial marketing review, Natasha McDonough recommended that a large push on Facebook would be needed to help build awareness. Many Sunderland residents used Facebook already to order meat through local butchers as well as fruit and veg through local greengrocers, so it seemed like a natural option to boost followers and ultimately customer numbers.
The existing facebook page ‘likes’ were just over 1000, by the end of the month they had hit 3000!
This was achieved through promoting their festive seafood platters via running competitions and through timing sponsored posts to be promoted within in people’s newsfeeds at optimum times.
From the instant the first promotion started, enquiries and orders were taking place.

The number of likes to their facebook page also trebled which makes it easier to continue to push out promotions and special offers.
