Aim
In its role as the independent local champion for people who use health and social care services, Healthwatch South Tyneside commissioned MMC Research & Marketing to survey residents of South Tyneside. The aim of the market research, was to develop an understanding of how, if at all, the COVID-19 pandemic had impacted on the mental health of adults in the area, and whether the experience of service users had been affected as a result of changes ensuring adherence to Government guidelines.
Work
A 10-minute online questionnaire was designed by MMC Research & Marketing. The survey was disseminated online and via Healthwatch’s trusted partners such as the CCG, South Tyneside Clinical Commissioning team and Inspire South Tyneside. Communications promoting the survey offered respondents the opportunity to call a member of the Healthwatch South Tyneside team so they could complete the survey over the telephone, ensuring residents with lower confidence levels when it comes to technology could still take part.
Results
A detailed PowerPoint report, designed according to Healthwatch branding guidelines, was produced and the insights gathered were used to feedback to local service providers. MMC Research & Marketing were also invited to present the project findings at Healthwatch Week.
