Random Acts of Kindness Week 2020

Monday 17th February 2020 marks the start of Random Acts of Kindness Week so, as a team, we’ve decided to each commit to carrying out a random act of kindness in the month of February.

Our core company values include ‘empathy’ and ‘pride’.

Empathy, because we think about how others feel. Our colleagues, our clients, our suppliers.  Pride is about the pride we take in our projects but also in our communities.

With this in mind our managing director, Natasha, set up an initiative to enable the team to carry out their random act of kindness with either £40 to give as a donation to charity of cause of our choice, or two hours “off work” to do our chosen act of kindness.  It could have been spending time with an elderly relative, helping at an animal shelter or even taking some much needed “me time”. We all decided on a charitable cause and over the week, we’ll be sharing our posts on social media.

David in the team told us “My girlfriend is running the Great North Run for Alzheimer’s Society this year, so my random act of kindness was to help her reach her fundraising goal through a donation. The cause is close to her heart as her grandad unfortunately has dementia, so it’s amazing to be able to support her through this kind and thoughtful initiative”.

Some of our acts of kindness include monetary donations to not-for-profit organisations that are close to our hearts and a donation of items to Sunderland Foodbank.

Our values are at the heart of everything we do as a business. If you would like to get to know our team a little more, visit our team page.
