Business Owners’ Mental Health during lockdown

The results of our Business Owners’ mental health survey are in and the findings are no surprise to us here at MMC.

We didn’t want to presume what kind of support is needed to help business owners during this time, but we had a feeling that the likes of peer-to-peer support would be one of the things that has helped business owners the most during lockdown.

Another finding that was interesting to us was the number of business owners that had found that ‘meditation and mindfulness’ was a positive coping mechanism for them and it was no surprise that over /under eating and drinking more alcohol had also appeared high on the list.

Doing the survey is one thing, but what people do with the data is another and MMC is committed to working with external organisations to help more business owners navigating these tough times and we’ll be updating in a future blog on the types of support available.

Meanwhile, a huge thank you to the following organisations that got behind this campaign and encouraged business owners to take part North East Counselling Service, The North East of England Chamber of Commerce, Sunderland AFC’s Foundation of Light, Newcastle United’s Newcastle United Foundation.

MMC has donated £200 to FoL and NUF’s combined campaign #BeAGameChanger.
